French Courses (FR):
3160 - French for International Business I
A course based on understanding common business practices in a cross-cultural setting. Course topics encompass business practices such as writing and translating letters and professional reports, comparing and analyzing American and French cultural patterns. Being offered in the spring semester also students prepare for and take the certificationexam for the Diplome de Français Professionel.
4160 - French for International Business II
A continuation of FR 3160, this course continues the study of business practices in the global market-place. Emphasis on researching and describing francophone specific economic details such as demographics, politics, economics, as well as researching business creation and operation practices and requirements.
4200 - French Enlightenment, Revolution, & Romanticism
Cultural and literary studies of the 18th-19th century in which France occupied the center stage of world history and its modern institutions came into being. Emphasizes the free intellectual inquiry championed by philosophers and the romantic melancholy in the aftermath of the Revolution
Japanese Courses (JAPN):
3050 - Japanese Conversation & Composition
Practice in the spoken language with emphasis on vocabulary, Kanji, pronunciation, and comprehension; learning practical language skills and intercultural communication through various topics.
3160 - Japanese for International Business I
A course based on understanding common business practices in a cross-cultural setting. Course topics encompass business practices such as common and appropriate greetings and terminology. Topics were emphasized by studying case studies based on Japanese and international corporations such as Nintendo, Coca Cola, and Walmart.
3980 - Directed Reading
Independent study which consisted of weekly meetings with my advisor to review materials for the JLPT exam.
4060 - Introduction to Japanese Literature
Students read contemporary Japanese narrative fiction, poetry, and drama in their historical and social context.
4160 - Japanese for International Business II
A continuation of the study of common practices in the Japanese business world which were studied in JAPN 3160.

MKT 3010 - Principles of Marketing
Principles and concepts involved in planning, pricing, promoting, and distributing of goods and services.
3020 - Consumer Behavior
Examination of selected individual and group behavioral science concepts and their application to the understanding of consumer decision making.
4270 - International Marketing
Study of marketing from the international point of view. Emphasis is on the necessary modification of marketing thinking and practice for foreign markets due to individual environmental differences.
ECON 3100 - International Economy
Studies of the process of international commerce. Covers basic theory of trade and exchange rates, institutional and legal environment, current policy issues.
MGT 3180 - Management of Information Systems
Introduction to information systems concepts and applications in business. Topics include software, hardware, decision support and knowledge based systems, database, information systems design and implementation, and the management of information systems.
4000 - Management of Organizational Behavior
Provides management students with a framework for understanding how behavior within business organizations is managed. Particular emphasis is on integrating management theory with recent developments in the behavioral sciences with distinct management applications.
4230 - International Business Management
Survey of theoretical and institutional complexities of international business operations. Topics include exporting, importing, foreign investment, multinational corporations, and international payment system.
PRTM 3420 - Introduction to Tourism & Event Management
Survey of travel and tourism in the United States with focus on terminology, demographics, financial significance, and trends.
ENGL 3040 - Business Writing
Introduction to audience, context, purpose, and writing strategies for texts common in professional business settings: memoranda, letters, reports, and proposals. Includes individual and team projects.
STAT 3090 - Introductory Business Statistics
Introductory probability and statistics for business students, particularly those who will take MGT 3100. Topics include descriptive statistics, probability, expectations, binomial, normal, sampling distributions, one and two sample estimation and testing.
MATH 2070 - Business Calculus
Introduction to the calculus of several variables, differential calculus and optimization of several variables, multiple integrals. Topics from the management sciences are used to illustrate the above concepts.

2780 - Wilderness First Aid
This American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid with Adult CPR course provides individuals involved with wilderness activities with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illness when more advanced help is not immediately available.
INT 2510 - UPIC Internship
Students participate in a full-time University Professional Internship/Co-op Program.
LAIB 4000 - Language & International Business Internship
Mandatory internship with an international company in the United States or abroad. May be part-time or full-time during the summer or academic semester for a minimum of 140 hours. LAIB 4000 must be taken for a total of three credits. The student may register for one or two credits if necessary during the internship and register for the balance when writing the internship report in the student’s target language.
STS 1010 - Survey of Science and Technology in Society
Surveys historical, philosophical, and social studies of science; introduces the basic requisites for scientific and technological literacy; and considers the problems of responsible participation in a scientifically and technologically advanced society.
ANTH 3530 - Forensic Anthropology
Introduction to forensic anthropology, the science that utilizes methods from skeletal biology and archaeology as tools in human identification in a medico-legal context.
COMM 2500 - Public Speaking
Practical instruction in public speaking; practice in the preparation, delivery, and criticism of short speeches. Develops an understanding and knowledge of the process of communication.
